Insurance Coverage

Japan Compulsory Insurance

Japan Compulsory Insurance or JCI is the mandatory insurance coverage required by Japanese law for all registered vehicles.  This is automatically renewed at the time of vehicle registration renewal.  JCI by itself does not cover damages to you or vehicle in case of an accident. The coverage amount is also not sufficient to cover any claims made against you by third parties.  We strongly recommend taking out voluntary insurance coverage.

Voluntary Insurance

The voluntary insurance policies our insurance brokers provide come with more than sufficient coverage for third party liability, vehicle compensation and property damage. In addition all polices come standard with;

24 Hour Roadside Assistance

24 Hour Claims Assistance

Attourney Assistance (if the need arises)

Insurance Policy in English

We recommend you keep at least a copy of you policy, shaken sho (car title) and JCI certificate in the car at all times.
